What ranges does the MEG925 cover?

The MEG925 datasheet lists earth resistance by the 2/3/4-wire method from 0.00 Ω to 30.00 kΩ, the selective method from 0.00 Ω to 3000 Ω, the double-clamp method from 0.01 Ω to 100 Ω and soil resistivity up to 9000 kΩm. The table on this page shows the lowest range of each function, for example 0.00–29.99 Ω at 0.01 Ω resolution.

When should I use the selective method on the MEG925?

Use the selective method when the grounding point you want to test is connected in parallel with others, such as a tower or a multi-point grounding grid. With the current clamp on that point’s down lead, the MEG925 datasheet says the reading is that point’s own resistance, without disconnecting the ground wire or the equipment.
