Case study: looking around the corner inside a gearbox housing

A maintenance fitter hears a new noise from an enclosed gearbox and wants to see the gear teeth before deciding whether to strip it. The only way in is a small oil-fill or inspection port, and the teeth face sideways to that opening, so a camera that only looks forward would show the opposite wall.
