The Marmonix MAN-740 is a pocket vane anemometer that reads air speed, duct airflow, temperature and humidity at the same time. Its fan-blade sensor is counted by an infrared beam and covers 0.4–30 m/s at ±(2% + 2 digits). Enter the duct area and it converts the speed to CMM, CFM or CMS. Temperature (−20 to +60 °C), relative humidity (0–100%) and the Beaufort wind level appear on the same backlit 9999-count LCD, refreshed five times per second. At 85 g on two AAA cells, it suits HVAC balancing, rooftop and site wind checks, and environmental surveys across the UAE and GCC.

How to use the MAN-740
- Air speed: hold the power key for 2 seconds. The meter starts in VEL mode. Face the fan blade square to the airflow and read speed, Beaufort level, temperature and RH. Press UNIT to change the speed unit.
- Duct area: hold VEL for 2 seconds, set the cross-section with UNIT (up), HOLD (down) and VEL (next digit), then hold VEL again to save.
- Airflow: press VEL once to switch to FLOW mode and press UNIT to choose CMM, CFM or CMS.
- Peaks: press HOLD to freeze a reading, or hold it for 2 seconds for MAX/MIN mode. Short-press power to toggle the backlight.
Care tips: do not touch or force the fan blades, avoid strong vibration, and remove the batteries if you store the meter for a long time.

What does the MAN-740 measure?
Wind or air speed from 0.4 to 30 m/s, airflow volume in CMM, CFM or CMS, air temperature from −20 to +60 °C and relative humidity from 0 to 100%. It also shows the Beaufort wind force level (0–12), all on one backlit screen.
How do I measure duct airflow in CFM?
Hold the VEL key for more than 2 seconds to enter area mode and key in the duct cross-section (UNIT raises the digit, HOLD lowers it, VEL moves to the next digit). Hold VEL again to exit, then press UNIT to choose CMM, CFM or CMS while you hold the fan perpendicular to the airflow.
How accurate is the MAN-740 anemometer?
Wind speed is ±(2% + 2 digits), temperature is ±2 °C and humidity is ±2% RH, with the display updating five times per second.
Can I stop it switching off during long readings?
Yes. It powers off after 15 minutes of inactivity by default. To cancel this, hold HOLD and press the power key for more than 2 seconds; five beeps confirm that auto-off is disabled.
MAN-740, MAL-800 or MAL900: which should I choose?
Choose the MAN-740 for a light, pocket vane meter that also reads humidity and Beaufort level. The MAL-800 telescopic vane reaches 45 m/s and stores 500 records with USB. The MAL900 hot-wire probe fits small test holes in ducts and logs 350 records to a PC.
